West Bend Dental Services: Family Dentistry
Family dentists prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and treat diseases of the oral cavity, as well as maintain the function and appearance of the teeth for every member of the family. Preventative care is our primary goal, but in some cases, oral diseases and abnormalities may be a symptom of other health issues. In this case, we may refer patients to their physician or a specialist for further evaluation.
Dr. Dowden provides patients quality dental care in a welcoming and happy environment. Preventative dental care keeps your smile in tip top condition to keep you and your loved ones from having to undergo costly and more serious dental procedures.
West Bend Dental Services: CEREC Same-Day Restorations
CEREC makes single visit dental restorations possible for crowns restorations and implants. Cornerstone Dental has upgraded our tool set to include CEREC because we value your time and the experience you have while at our clinic. At Cornerstone, you no longer must endure impressions made of your teeth, temporary crowns and best of all, the time needed to send your information to a lab and to wait to have them make your crown.
We care about you and your dental health. CEREC is available for you and your dental health.

West Bend Dental Services: Cosmetic Dentistry
Contrary to family dentistry which focuses on oral hygiene and preventing, diagnosing and treating oral disease, cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of your smile and in some cases may also provide restorative benefits. Cosmetic dentistry provides elective or desired treatments. Even dental fillings may be considered cosmetic to a certain extent because fillings made of porcelain or composite materials that closely match the color of your teeth are applied to maintain the natural appearance of your teeth and smile.
We care about your smile and are here to perfect it to make you want to smile that much more.
West Bend Dental Services: Orthodontics (braces)
No matter what your age, orthodontics can protect your bite (occlusion), maximize your teeth’s effectiveness in performing their functions and create a well-aligned smile. Treatments include repositioning the teeth and underlying roots and providing better support for the crown of the tooth. Additionally. Orthodontic treatment can rejuvenate your facial appearance by reshaping the jaw, neck and lips. Well-aligned teeth make oral hygiene easier to maintain.
Our ortho treatments include ClearCorrect, invisible alternative to braces, without metal braces. Likewise, full traditional braces may be warranted in some cases. Dr. Dowden can provide either service and evaluate your smile to suggest the best option.
We care about your smile and your dental health and can help straighten your teeth if mother nature provided you something that wasn’t quite perfect.
West Bend Dental Services: Endodontics (root canals)
A tooth can become inflamed or infected for several reasons, including severe tooth decay or a crack or chip in the tooth. Likewise, failing dental fillings and dental crowns can foster bacterial leakage into the dental pulp. Once infected, the dental pulp begins to die and the body’s inflammatory responses set it. The combination of infection and inflammation can cause significant pain, resulting in a toothache.
Certain signs may indicate that you have a diseased tooth or infected nerve and therefore may need a root canal. These signs include:
- Tooth pain when pressure is applied to the tooth.
- Tooth pain and sensitivity that lingers after hot or cold has been removed.
- Tooth darkening.
- Swelling and irritation in the surrounding gum tissue.
Dr. Dowden will evaluate your condition and suggest a root canal, if appropriate, to save the affected tooth and preserve its functional. Root canal therapy restores and saves an average of 17 million teeth each year. Keep your tooth and stop the pain – sounds better than a tooth extraction, right?
